About
I’m a composer, songwriter and theatre-maker, working across contemporary theatre, new musical work and collaborative, devised performance. Music is at the centre of my practice, shaping how work is made, structured and experienced. Alongside my theatre and musical work, I have a parallel practice in creative education and interdisciplinary learning.

My theatre work blends electronic and acoustic sound worlds with playful formal invention. As co-founder of TalkShow, I co-created a series of interactive performances — including Ten Out of Ten, Focus Group and Telethon (The Lowry / Shoreditch Town Hall / Ovalhouse) — combining live music and immersive staging. My compositions and sound designs are often central to the dramaturgy of a piece, shaping atmosphere, rhythm and meaning.

I’ve written music and songs for new musicals including Precipice (New Diorama / Timelapse Theatre), Rudolf (MAC Birmingham / Pins and Needles) and Other Guys (Ovalhouse / Rich Mix). These projects explore contemporary approaches to musical theatre, drawing on acoustic-led, electronic and experimental traditions. My practice also extends into media-based and interactive work, including R&D using Ableton and Max for Live to create responsive musical systems and installation projects.
As a songwriter and recording artist, I spent over a decade fronting the chamber-pop band Left With Pictures (Organ Grinder Records), releasing three albums to critical acclaim (BBC Radio 6 Music, The Times, The Line of Best Fit). I’ve also performed and recorded with the art-pop band Stats (Memphis Industries), working with analogue synths, live electronics and collaborative studio production. This background continues to inform the character of my compositions, fusing acoustic instruments with synths and studio techniques.

Creative education is a major strand of my work. I’m Creative Director of Artis Online, where I lead the development of a large-scale digital performing arts platform for primary education, shaping the processes and content behind a library of video sessions for use in classrooms. My work in education also includes UK and international CPD, youth theatre direction, school-based devising projects, and long-term partnerships with organisations such as the Unicorn Theatre and New Wimbledon Theatre. Across all of this, I draw on the same collaborative, devised-led principles that underpin my theatre practice.

Whether composing for theatre, developing new musical theatre languages, or designing creative education projects, my work is rooted in collaboration, curiosity and a commitment to making music an active, expressive force in performance.
